Starting Friday 5th February I will be teaching a ‘primary series talk-through’(led*) class on the last Friday of the month at the Village Hall 6 am – 7.30 am. (£7 per class) The led class will be followed by a short Q & A session- so if you have any questions or need any information about the practice please feel free to ask in this session. I want to try expand the Q&A sessions to include elements of Yoga Philosophy alongside the more general asana related stuff.
There is a shower at the Village Hall for students going straight onto work after the class
This new class is a ‘drop-in’ class –no need to book just turn up and join in.
(This class is also part of the Manchester Mysore Programme – for further details please see the MMP section on the website www.yogamanchester.org.uk )
*In a led class the teacher calls out the names of the postures in sequence and counts the correct vinyasa in traditional Sanskrit, with all students moving together as a group.
Learning the correct vinyasa gives the student a deeper understanding of the practice.
Nb – In this class I will be adhering to the Mysore codes and practices of Ashtanga Yoga. Depending on level of practice some students will be asked to stop at navasana (boat posture)then join in again at the backbending sequence. |
